Repeating the Question
When you’re asked a question by a member of the audience, repeat the question before answering it. There are several reasons for doing this....
It gives you a few extra seconds to think about your answer. (Don't knock it — those few seconds can be very valuable!)
By repeating the question, you're making sure you heard the question correctly. If you misheard or misunderstood the question, your answer may be incorrect.
Repeating the question benefits those members of the audience who could not hear the question. This is especially important when it's a large audience.
Finally, if the session is being recorded, the original question may not have been recorded. Repeating the question benefits whoever is watching the recording later.
