Introduction to Platform Success

So you want people to listen to you when you speak? Do you want to convey your thoughts effectively and clearly? Do you want to persuade people to your point of view?

Strengthening your communication skills is one of the best things you can do for yourself. The techniques and suggestions in the following PSU Insights will improve almost all forms of communication, from personal conversations to keynotes before large audiences. However, since Pro Speaker U is designed to help people move from being public speakers to professional speakers, these Insights will be focused on strengthening your platform presentations.

There are a number of techniques that you can use to move your speech from good to great. You certainly don't have to use all of these in your presentation, but you should be aware of them all so that you can pick-and-choose the techniques that work best for you.

Furthermore, this is certainly not an exhaustive list of useful speaking techniques, but it may give you some ideas on how to make your speech really stand out. Try different techniques, but don't do anything that isn't congruent with your own style and personality. It's important that you be yourself... but be the best you that you can be!
